We all know Terrell Suggs can multitask with the best of them.
Nestled between his efforts to establish a phantom college (prestigious Ball So Hard University) and scatter ESPN hosts to the wind, the All-Pro Ravens linebacker snagged last season's NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
It was widely presumed that a team like the Ravens would come out of last year's NFL lockout in better shape than younger teams and those muddling through transition. The way Suggs tells it, it wasn't so much what Baltimore did, but didn't do, that helped him post a banner season.
"Last year, to be totally honest with you, I had the time of my life during the lockout and wasn't in a hurry to get back to work. I think that's why, in total, I ended up having the season that I did," Suggs told WHB-AM in Kansas City, via SportsRadioInterviews.com.Â
"A lot of guys ended up pushing themselves too hard and ended up getting hurt trying to get ready for minicamps and OTAs. Fortunately, we didn't have that burden on our shoulders and that's why I think I had a great year."
"We definitely feel (we're right there) and have been the past couple years," Suggs said. "We're going to see. We definitely don't want to take any steps backward so you definitely have to work in the offseason and pick up where you left off at and eventually getting over that hump and getting the job done."
