Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress has left the door open for a return to New York, but he's also made it crystal clear that's not his first choice.
Burress, set to become a free agent next month, told WPEN-FM in Philadelphia he really wants to play for the Eagles next season.
"It's just an exciting time for me being a free agent and having the opportunity to be any place I want to be," Burress said during the interview. "Obviously, Philadelphia is one of those places."

Burress, who caught 45 passes for 612 yards with eight touchdowns last season for the Jets, said he can give the Eagles the big-bodied receiver to add to an already dynamic offense led by LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick.
"Nothing else would make me happier ... coming to Philadelphia," Burress said. "It just adds a unique dynamic to what's already in place."
Burress signed with the Jets last offseason after missing the previous two seasons while serving a 20-month prison sentence for illegal weapon possession. Burress said Tuesday that it took him about six or seven weeks into the season until he got his legs back into football shape, and this year "I think I'll be back to my old self."
The Jets don't intend to bring Burress back for a second season, The Star-Ledger reported, citing a person with knowledge of the team's free agency planning.
But Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum doesn't seem to view the door as completely closed.
"He's exploring his options+that's what we want our players to do this time of yr," he tweeted Tuesday. "He gave us a really good yr."
