One day after it made headlines that the Steelers quarterback had yet to speak with new offensive coordinator Todd Haley, the two finally met and talked, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

It created a stir Monday that Haley, who has hired last week, had yet to reach out to his quarterback. The Steelers brought Haley aboard after deciding not to retain Bruce Arians, who had led the team's offense the previous five seasons.

Haley's hiring also was laced with drama, as it came amid reports that Steelers president Art Rooney II orchestrated Arians' departure and pushed for Haley as the replacement above coach Mike Tomlin's wishes.

Haley's arrival in Pittsburgh was preceded by a reputation of being brash with players, but Roethlisberger had said he was looking forward to meeting the coach to form "my own opinion."
