Lewis should be familiar with Woodson, having coached him as a member of the Steelers staff and as the Ravens defensive coordinator. According to the Enquirer, Woodson was also a coaching intern for the Bengals in the 2010 preseason.
Woodson played in the NFL for 17 seasons, including 10 with the Steelers, one with the 49ers, four with the Ravens and two with the Raiders. He finished his career with 71 interceptions, third-most in league history, and 1,050 tackles.
Lewis told the newspaper that he is not operating according to a fixed deadline with regard to hiring a new secondary coach.
"We've interviewed some guys and we're going to talk to some other people and make a decision as quick as possible," Lewis said.
