A turbulent season for the Cleveland Browns and Peyton Hillis might not have dissuaded the team from giving the running back another chance.
Hillis clashed with the team last offseason about receiving a new contract. The dispute worsened when Hillis was sidelined by a lingering hamstring injury as well as a case of strep throat that caused him to miss a September game against the Miami Dolphins. The disconnect between Hillis and the team became such a problem that veteran players sat down with Hillis in November to discuss the problems.
Hillis rushed for 376 yards on 101 carries during his final six games of the season after returning from the injury.
The Browns' stance is an about-face from a November report that said the team was preparing to move on without Hillis after the season.
