Titans DC Gray tells newspaper he's staying in Tennessee

Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray has told The Tennessean that he is staying with the Titans, confirming that he is out of the running for the vacant head-coaching job in Tampa Bay.

"I am going to be the defensive coordinator for the Titans and I am glad to be working for the Titans," Gray told the newspaper. "That's what I'm going to be doing."

Gray was among several candidates who interviewed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head-coaching position, with NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reporting Wednesday that Mike Sherman had been called back for a second meeting with the team.

Gray also was a candidate for the Indianapolis Colts' coaching vacancy, which ultimately went to Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano.
