The interview is expected to take place Tuesday morning.

Williams, who has coached in Indianapolis for 10 seasons, served with Vikings coach Leslie Frazier on the Colts' coaching staff from 2003 to 2004.

The Vikings reportedly stripped Fred Pagac of his defensive coordinator title last Friday. But even before that move, the Vikings had spoken with several candidates for the position.

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker talked with the Vikings but elected to stay in his current position. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris spoke with the Vikings but instead joined the Washington Redskins as defensive backs coach.
