"I'd love to continue being a Jet for another year, and if that didn't happen, I would certainly welcome another opportunity," Brunell said, according to The Star-Ledger. "I'd love to keep playing. I love it, I absolutely love it."

Brunell has been Mark Sanchez's backup and mentor for two years in New York, after several successful seasons as a starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars (1995-2003) and stints with the Washington Redskins (2004-2007) and New Orleans Saints (2008-09). He has thrown for 32,072 yards and 184 touchdowns with 108 interceptions in a lengthy NFL career that started with the Green Bay Packers, who selected him in the fifth round of the 1993 NFL Draft.
