âAll the trials and tribulations make me me,â Babin told Yahoo! Sports. âIt increases my desire, and my hunger, and that chip on my shoulder. Iâm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.â
Considering his knack for tackling the quarterback, it's incredible that Babin, 30, is in the sixth stop of his NFL career. He played with the Texans (2004-06), Seahawks (2007-08), Chiefs (2008), Eagles (2009), Titans (2010), before landing back with the Eagles after signing a five-year, $28 million deal in the offseason.
With two games to go, Babin has an outside shot of breaking Michael Strahan's 2001 single-season sack record of 22.5. Babin doesn't hide his hope to get into the history books.
âI think Iâd be insane if I said I didnât want it," Babin said of the record. "But is it what Iâm thinking about 24/7? No. Thatâs not how I go about my business. Whatever happens on Sunday happens. Iâm going to play my hardest.â
Sound the Hattiesburg Foghorn! Brett Favre should know someone could need help breaking the sack record again.
