ESPN Dallas reported Jones was cutting and running a few sprints during the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media.
Jones did not participate in any formal drills during practice.
"I'm anxious to see how he does today," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the website outside the team's weight room. "He should be able to get anything he needs to get, (the) game planning and what we're doing and we'll let this thing measure. He did get good stuff yesterday."
Felix Jones went down during the Cowboys' win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Saturday night. With rookie running back DeMarco Murray lost for the rest of the season with a broken right ankle, Jones had become a key cog in the Cowboys' offense as they battle the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC East title.
Recently signed Sammy Morris will start Saturday against the Eagles if Jones is unable to play.
Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, as was linebacker DeMarcus Ware (neck), wideout Laurent Robinson (shoulder) and nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ribs).
