It appears there's a decent chance the Detroit Lions will be without running back Kevin Smith for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Smith is officially listed as questionable with an ankle injury after limited participation in Friday's practice, although the Detroit Free Press reported that Smith pulled up during his first pass route out of the backfield in a skeleton offense drill. He walked off the field and did not return.

If Smith can't play, Maurice Morris would get the start, with Keiland Williams and Aaron Brown as his backups.

Smith is trying to recover from an ankle injury he aggravated last week against the New Orleans Saints.

Also questionable for the the Lions is defensive tackle Nick Fairley, who is dealing with a foot injury. The team signed veteran defensive tackle Jovan Haye on Friday, who would assume Fairley's place in the D-line rotation.
