Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson sat out another practice Thursday with a high ankle sprain and told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that he expects to be a game-time decision for this weekend's tilt against Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.

Peterson missed all three practices last week following a left ankle injury sustained in the Vikings' Week 11 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Peterson remained hopeful he could play last weekend against the Falcons, but the Vikings ruled him out the day before the game causing him to miss his first action since December 2010.

Backup running back Toby Gerhart should see extended playing time if Peterson, tied for the NFL lead with 11 rushing TDs, is unable to play Sunday. Gerhart had 17 carries for 44 yards against the Falcons.
