Newton, who didn't miss any practice time, is expected to play Sunday when the Panthers host the Tennessee Titans after experiencing soreness in his throwing shoulder during the week. There was enough concern over the injury for Newton to undergo an MRI exam on Friday, the results of which looked "good," team spokesman Charlie Dayton told The Charlotte Observer
The most interesting detail might be that Newton managed to come out of the Panthers' bye week with a sore shoulder.
Five players are questionable for the Titans: tight end Jared Cook (knee), running back Ahmard Hall (back), safety Chris Hope (forearm), linebacker Barrett Ruud (groin) and wide receiver Nate Washington (hip).
