However, it doesn't look good for running back Ahmad Bradshaw.
Bradshaw, dealing with a stress fracture in his foot, was not at practice and will not play against the 49ers, reported The Star Ledger, citing a source briefed on his injury status. This would be the second straight game missed for Bradshaw.
In his place, Brandon Jacobs would get the start and shoulder the load, with D.J. Ware spelling him in certain situations.
Jacobs said he was pleased with how he played last week against the Patriots after rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
âI felt I got into some kind of a rhythm,â Jacobs said, according to the team's website. âI canât get into a rhythm being in, out, in, out, in another play here, next play, next two series, whatever. I have to keep going and be able to get some continuous plays.â
Nicks' return came after he sat out the team's Wednesday workout with a tweaked hamstring, which also forced him to sit out the Giants' Week 9 victory over the New England Patriots. Nicks hurt his hamstring during a game against the Miami Dolphins the previous week.
Nicks has 38 receptions for 575 yards with three touchdowns in seven games this season.
