FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress, kick returner Joe McKnight and safety Brodney Pool did not practice Wednesday as the team prepares for its Sunday night game against the New England Patriots.

Burress dealt with a stiff lower back and was questionable last week before catching a team-high five passes for 79 yards in New York's 27-11 win at Buffalo on Sunday. He was in sweats while the team practiced and said he would talk to reporters Thursday.

McKnight, who leads the NFL by averaging 40.2 yards per kickoff return, sat out with what coach Rex Ryan said was a toe injury.

Pool injured his left knee against the Bills but finished the game. He said he had a minor sprain and an MRI exam revealed no tears.

"I feel pretty good with where we're at," Ryan said. "I think we're going to have (everyone). ... I think we're healthy, and we're going to be just fine."

Ryan added that Pool might be the only player who could miss the game, which is for first place in the AFC East.

Tight end Dustin Keller and running back Shonn Greene, who suffered head injuries at Buffalo, fully participated in the padded practice. Greene is also dealing with a strained groin.

Keller, who was injured when he went airborne while trying to leap a Bills defender, isn't even on the Jets' injury list. He sat out the rest of the first half against the Bills before returning after halftime.

"That was a mistake," Keller said, adding it was a split-second decision to jump. "You live and you learn, and I don't think I'll be doing too much jumping. But, you never know."
