Chiefs' Pioli calls report on Haley's job status '100 percent false'

Despite reports to the contrary, Kansas City GM Scott Pioli said coach Todd Haley's job was not on the line during the Chiefs' comeback win over the Indianapolis Colts, ArrowheadPride.com reported Thursday.

Earlier that day KCSP-AM reported that Pioli was all set to fire Haley had the Chiefs lost to the Colts, and as the Chiefs stumbled to a 24-7 hole in the second quarter it looked like Pioli was going to get his probable cause to make a move. But the Chiefs stormed back to pull out a 28-24 win and now head into their bye week riding a little momentum generated from a two-game winning streak.

Pioli, however, made it clear Thursday that Haley would still be his man regardless of last Sunday's outcome, calling the report "100 percent false."

The GM also told the site there were no discussions about firing Haley prior to the Colts game.

Haley is 16-22 in his two-plus seasons with the Chiefs and has been under fire since the Chiefs opened the 2011 season with back-to-back blowout losses to the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions.
