The procedure reportedly was to prevent scar tissue and speed up Johnson's recovery.
Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that the team was seeking a second opinion on his All-Pro receiver, who was injured during the second quarter of Sunday's 17-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Johnson fell to the ground without being touched after a catch.
If Johnson is held out, Jacoby Jones is expected to take his spot in Houston's starting lineup.
