Showing zero interest in the hyper-available David Garrard, Indianapolis invited castoffs Dan Orlovsky and Brodie Croyle for Tuesday tryouts, The Indianapolis Star reported.
It's uncertain what Indianapolis expects from either of these two unemployed passers, but Orlovsky offers minor experience in the Colts' attack after spending time with the team during training camp. Croyle is 0-10 as an NFL starter, with all those losses dotting the Chiefs' record books from 2006 to 2010.
Indy is clearly not sold on the erratic Curtis Painter, and even if Collins is ready to go, it's unclear whether coach Jim Caldwell still views him as the team's best chance to win in Manning's absence.
