Peterson told The Associated Press on Thursday that he intends to eventually top the 296-yard rushing performance he set against the San Diego Chargers in 2007, which established an NFL record for the most rushing yards in a single game.
The 26-year-old running back believes someone will eventually rush for 300 yards in a game. When asked whether it would be him, he replied, "Yes, it will."
"When I look back, I missed some opportunities in the first half, but that's what it's all about. Sometimes you start fast and finish strong," Peterson said Thursday. "It's all about making the adjustments at halftime and I felt like we made some good adjustments and came out, stayed true to it and continued to pound up front, pound up front."
