Agent says Barber has 'moved forward' from failed comeback

Tiki Barber's agent on Monday denied a report that the running back was "devastated" he wasn't snatched up by an NFL team during his attempted comeback.

Sports Illustrated's Peter King wrote of Barber: "I hear he's devastated that no team gave him a chance."

Agent Mark Lepselter was quoted as saying he was "flabbergasted that Tiki has not had an opportunity with any team, especially when rosters were at 90 players this year. I certainly thought some team would be intrigued to see what he had left in the tank."

Lepselter told the New York Post later Monday that his comments were misrepresented.

"That is not correct," he said. "I never said he was 'devastated.' That term never came out of my mouth."

Barber, 36, hasn't played in an NFL game since 2006, when he was with the New York Giants. He worked out with the Miami Dolphins this summer, but he didn't generate any further interest from teams.

"This is the last time I am speaking on this subject in any way, shape or form," Lepselter said. "You can't worry about the things in life you can't control, and Tiki has moved forward accordingly."
