More trouble: Patron sues Titans' Britt over Oct. bar fight

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt is being sued for his alleged involvement in an October bar brawl, the *Nashville City Paper* reported Friday.

Harold E. Pointer, who was involved in a scuffle at Nashville's Karma Lounge last fall, is suing Britt, patron Bradford Miser and the bar. 

The newspaper reports that Pointer filed a civil suit in Davidson County Circuit Court on Monday that claims assault, battery and negligence. He seeking $150,000 in punitive and compensatory damages.

Pointer says he and a friend watched as Britt and Miser were escorted from the bar following a fight just prior to 2 a.m. on Oct. 22. When the Titans wideout and Miser were allowed to re-enter the lounge, Britt repeatedly signaled across the room to Pointer before walking over to him, wagging a finger in his face and yelling at him, according to Pointer.

Pointer states that his friend tried telling Britt that they were not involved in the original fight. Pointer claims that when he approached the bar soon after, Miser hit him on the head with a glass bottle, which led to brawl on the floor. Pointer says Miser and Britt proceeded to hit him repeatedly until security separated them.

Miser was later indicted on an assault charge by a Davidson County grand jury. Britt was not charged for his alleged involvement in the incident, but Pointer says the bar is at fault for serving the Titans receiver and Miser when they appeared "visibly intoxicated."

No one was seriously hurt in the incident.

It's been a troubling offseason for Britt. He was released on $2,000 bond after surrendering himself to Nashville police Wednesday on two outstanding warrants alleging that he provided inaccurate information on separate driver's license applications.

Britt officially was charged with two misdemeanors, fingerprinted and booked before posting bond. Police told The Tennessean and WKRN-TV last month that Britt wasn't home when officers attempted to serve him April 14 with the misdemeanor charges issued by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Britt, who led the Titans with 775 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches last season, has been involved in at least seven incidents with police since he was selected in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, according to The Tennessean.
