Mayock and Nessler replace Bob Papa and Joe Theismann, both of whom will remain with NFL Network in other roles.

The new team will call NFL Network's eight prime-time games.

"My favorite aspect of this industry is to do live games," said Mayock, who also works Notre Dame games for NBC. "You are able to get up close to the coaches and players, and the environment is electric. To have the opportunity to call NFL games in primetime on NFL Network is like a dream come true."

Mayock will continue to serve as NFL Network's top draft analyst while adding his X's and O's expertise on additional shows.

Nessler joins the "Thursday Night Football" booth while continuing to call prime-time college football and basketball games for ESPN and ABC.

"The NFL has always been a big part of my life and my career," Nessler said. "To join NFL Network and the great team they've assembled is an honor. Prime-time football on Thursday nights is an event. It's an exciting new challenge, and I can't wait to be part of it all."
