University of Washington quarterback Jake Locker held a private workout with the Minnesota Vikings Tuesday, according to a league source and is set to audition for two more teams also selecting in the first 12 picks at next month's NFL Draft -- the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans, according to the source.
The process is under way this week for the quarterback whom NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock rates as his No. 2 prospect at the position.
The 6-foot-2 ½, 231-pound Locker, is scheduled to make other visits as well.
Likewise for the Titans, who pick eighth and announced their intent to trade or release quarterback Vince Young, leaving them with unproven Rusty Smith at quarterback. The Broncos, who own the 12th selection in April's draft, used a first-round pick on Tim Tebow last year and still have veteran Kyle Orton under contract.
