Mora withdraws from Broncos', Eagles' D-coordinator hunts

NFL Network analyst Jim Mora is withdrawing his name from consideration for the Denver Broncos' and Philadelphia Eagles' defensive coordinator jobs.

Mora was being pursued by both teams and spoke with officials from each. Mora also flew to Denver this week to meet with new coach John Fox.

East-West Shrine Game on NFL Network:
![](http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork) On Saturday, Jan. 22, NFL stars of tomorrow compete in the 2011 East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, Fla. Coverage begins on NFL Network at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Mora was the top candidate for both openings, a league source said Wednesday, and could have picked between the teams. However, he will stick with broadcasting at this time while keeping his coaching options open for the future.

Mora said he was "flattered for the opportunity" to discuss the openings, but at this time "it just wasn't the right fit" for him and his family. Mora last coached in the NFL in 2009 as the Seattle Seahawks' head coach and has spent most of life in the profession as the son of former New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Mora.

With Mora now withdrawing, the Eagles are considering Dick Jauron, their secondary coach, for their opening, as well as recently fired Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Bill Davis. Jauron also is a candidate for the Cleveland Browns' defensive coordinator job.

New Orleans Saints secondary coach Dennis Allen also is a candidate for the Eagles' defensive coordinator job, the *Philadelphia Inquirer* first reported before the team confirmed it. The 38-year-old hasn't been a coordinator at any level, but he has been with the Saints for five years, according to the newspaper.

Fox could wait for the opportunity to talk to Green Bay Packers defensive line coach Mike Trgovac about the Broncos' opening. Trgovac was on Fox's Carolina Panthers staff as defensive coordinator from 2003 to 2008.
