Young visits Titans' locker room, speaks with teammates

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- There was a Vince Young sighting at the Titans' facility Friday.

The injured quarterback made his way through the locker room after practice, exchanging hugs and pleasantries with a number of teammates. He didn't talk with reporters.

It was Young's first known appearance in the Tennessee locker room since being asked to leave before a team meeting last month.

Young wore a brace over his surgically repaired right thumb, which he injured Nov. 21 against the Washington Redskins. After that game, Young had a heated exchange with Titans coach Jeff Fisher.

Young was placed on season-ending injured reserve Nov. 22, the same day Fisher sent word for the quarterback to leave the facility as he addressed the rest of the team about the injury.

Young was dressed in a black hoodie and briefly talked and laughed with a number of teammates, including Michael Griffin, Chris Johnson, Stephen Tulloch, Rusty Smith, Nate Washington and Kenny Britt.

"It is what it is. I ain't never had a problem with the whole situation, so I don't know what the big deal is. It's what the media is making it," Griffin said of the incident between Young and Fisher.

Johnson said he sees Young often enough that he didn't consider his re-emergence in the locker room a big deal.

"Where's Vince? I didn't know he was here," Johnson said. "He's not playing. I see Vince all the time, so it's nothing different for me. It don't matter what the setting is. He can't play on Sunday because he's on IR."

Wide receiver Nate Washington who, along with Britt, yelled from across the locker room to acknowledge Young, said it was good to see him.

"It was good to see him," Washington said. "I haven't not seen him, but it was good to see him back in here."

Fisher already had done his post-practice news conference. There was no immediate response from Fisher through the team's public relations staff.

As for current Titans injuries, safety Donnie Nickey was added to the injury report as limited in practice with a lower back issue and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks also is limited with an ankle and will be questionable. Defensive end Dave Ball (hip/concussion) and cornerback Ryan Mouton (hamstring/lower leg) didn't practice and are doubtful for Sunday. Defensive tackle Jovan Haye (concussion) fully practiced and is probable.
