Dolphins' Henne inactive, but will be emergency QB vs. Bears

Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne is inactive but will serve as the team's emergency third quarter against the Chicago Bears Thursday night.

Henne was listed as doubtful after sitting out the team's practice Wednesday, their only workout during a short week of preparation. He suffered a left knee injury while backing up injured starter Chad Pennington last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.

With Pennington done for the season, Tyler Thigpen will make his first start since 2008, when he was with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Veteran Patrick Ramsey, signed this week, will backup Thigpen.

Dolphins left tackle Jake Long was not listed on the inactive list and is expected to start. The Pro Bowler was limited Tuesday and Wednesday and had been listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. Long hasn't missed a game in three seasons with Miami.

As expected, Bears linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee) is inactive. Other Chicago inactives include QB Caleb Hanie, RB Kahlil Bell, G Edwin Williams, TE Desmond Clark, DE Barry Turner, and DE Corey Wooten.

Other inactives for the Dolphins include: WR Roberto Wallace, S Chris Clemons, CB Nate Ness, T Matt Kopa, DE Clifton Geathers, C Joe Berger, and TE Jeron Mastrud.
