Texans' Johnson doesn't practice, will be a game-time decision

Andre Johnson sat out Thursday's practice to rest his sprained right ankle, and Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak said the Pro Bowl wide receiver's status will be a "game-time decision" Sunday in Oakland.

Kubiak said Johnson did some running to test the ankle, which he first injured during the Texans' 30-27 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sept. 19.

"To say that he's a 'no,' I don't see it that way," Kubiak said. "Obviously, he's sorer ... than he was last week at this time or would've taken in some of the practice. He did run some. It's not like he didn't do anything."

Johnson aggravated the injury during last Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Johnson said he plans to play against the Raiders and that the ankle feels no worse than it did last week.

Running back Arian Foster, who was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month on Thursday, had compliments for Johnson -- the only other Texan to win the award.

"I watch the way Andre works and he's compensated for what he does with accolades in everything that he does and rightfully so," Foster said, according to the team's official website. "The man works hard. I just try to emulate that and do what he does."

Also, Kubiak said reserve linebacker Kevin Bentley underwent knee surgery to reduce swelling that appeared following last Sunday's game. Kubiak expects Bentley to return "in a few weeks."
