Free-agent LB Thomas works out for Jets but doesn't sign

Free-agent linebacker Adalius Thomas visited the New York Jets on Tuesday, but it is "doubtful" the team will sign him at this point, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Thomas played previously for Jets coach Rex Ryan in Baltimore. Thomas, a 10-year veteran, has received very little attention from other clubs since being released by the New England Patriots in the offseason, with teams worried about his slide in productivity and attitude after his falling out with New England's staff.

The 6-foot-2, 270-pound Thomas has been selected to two Pro Bowls. After his second Pro Bowl trip following the 2006 season, he signed a free-agent contract with the Patriots.
