Redskins safety LaRon Landry is healing from toe surgery and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in two weeks, The Washington Postreported Wednesday.

Landry, a fourth-year NFL veteran, was hampered for much of the Redskins' offseason workouts because of what coach Mike Shanahan called "soreness." Landry had the surgery June 23 in North Carolina, two sources familiar with the procedure told the Post.
Landry, 25, has spent considerable time at the Redskins' training complex in Ashburn, Va., as he prepares to possibly move from free safety to strong safety this season. Unlike teammate Albert Haynesworth, Landry is enthusiastic about the team's switch to the 3-4 defensive scheme, according to the newspaper.
Landry started 15 games in 2009, registering 90 tackles with an interception and a sack. He has 250 tackles and three interceptions in his NFL career.
