Source: Seahawks showing interest in free-agent safety Atogwe

The Seattle Seahawks are showing interest in free agent safety O.J. Atogwe, a league source said on Wednesday.

Atogwe, who became an unrestricted free agent in June and had not been pursued this month, except by his previous team, St. Louis, is one of the few young, injury-free, productive players on the market.

No visit is scheduled at this time between the Seahawks and Atogwe but could be a possibility next week. Atogwe was tagged with a franchise designation in 2009 and has spent his entire five-year career with the Rams.

In 12 games last season, Atogwe recorded 74 tackles and two interceptions.
