Thursday Night Football Viewership Up 57 Percent for Season

Saturday night's Dallas Cowboys-New Orleans Saints game on NFL Network was watched by an average of 10.5 million viewers (not including over-the-air stations in Dallas and New Orleans) -– ranking as the most watched game in the four years of Thursday Night Football on NFL Network (topping the previous best set by Green Bay-Dallas on Nov. 29, 2007 with 10.1 million viewers).

For the season, Thursday Night Football viewership has increased 57 percent from last year with an average of 5.4 million viewers tuning in (not including OTA stations) compared to a 3.4 million average after seven games in 2008.

Online, fans viewed more than one million live streams of Live: Thursday Night Football presented by Sprint coverage of the game and watched more than 650,000 hours with an average visit of nearly an hour –- both records for a live event on Live coverage features live "look-ins," studio analysis, and reports from the sidelines during the game broadcast. In terms of fan usage, the coverage of Cowboys-Saints on Thursday Night Football ranks among the top live games on the Internet.

NFL Network wraps up its Thursday Night Football schedule with a special Christmas night game this Friday, December 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET as the AFC West-leading San Diego Chargers visit the Tennessee Titans.
