DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter and guard Justin Smiley are sidelined with injuries as the team begins preparations for Sunday's home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Porter and Smiley worked out on stationary bikes while the Dolphins practiced Wednesday. They were joined by nose tackle Paul Soliai and linebacker Erik Walden, both reserves.

Starting tight end Anthony Fasano (hip) and reserve tackle Lydon Murtha (illness) were limited.

Porter has been nursing a right hamstring injury for much of the season and also has a sore knee. He made no tackles in Sunday's loss at New England and has just 2.5 sacks this season, compared to his AFC-high 17.5 last season.

Smiley has a shoulder injury, Soliai is slowed by a sore ankle and Walden has a hamstring injury.

"We're at the halfway point in the season," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano. "You're going to have a few bumps."

Linebacker Channing Crowder (left shoulder) and nose tackle Jason Ferguson (elbow) were back at practice after missing Sunday's loss at New England.
