ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills rookie safety Jairus Byrd joined San Francisco's Dave Baker as just the second NFL player to have two or more interceptions in three consecutive games.

Byrd intercepted two passes by Houston's Matt Schaub during the first quarter of Sunday's game at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The second-round draft pick out of Oregon also had two each in Buffalo's previous games, wins over the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.

In 1960, Baker had nine interceptions -- three against the Dallas Cowboys, two against the Baltimore Colts and four against the Los Angeles Rams -- during a three-game stretch in Weeks 8 through 10.

Last week, Byrd was chosen as NFL rookie of the month and entered the game with five interceptions, one behind the league leader, New Orleans Saints veteran safety Darren Sharper.
