Seymour, Smith, Kerney fined by NFL for unnecessary roughness

NEW YORK -- The NFL fined Oakland Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour $7,500 on Friday for unnecessary roughness against Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Clady.

After a play was over in Sunday's game, Seymour pulled Clady by the hair.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Patrick Kerney received a $5,000 fine for roughing the passer when he unnecessarily drove Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler to the ground.

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Justin Smith was fined $5,000 for hitting Brett Favre in the knee area during the Minnesota Vikings' 27-24 victory Sunday. The play occurred in the second quarter when Smith dived and hit Favre's left knee as the quarterback completed a 3-yard pass to Sidney Rice.

Smith was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness.
