SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Jones is unlikely to play Sunday against the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks after returning to practice this week from a shoulder injury.
Jones was listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report, with 49ers coach Mike Singletary saying the receiver isn't yet in game shape. Singletary hopes another week of workouts will be enough for Jones to make his season debut in Week 3 at Minnesota.
Jones, who's in his first season with the 49ers after four years with the Tennessee Titans, sustained a small fracture in his right shoulder during training camp Aug. 6.
In February, Jones signed a five-year contract worth $16.5 million with $5.4 million in guaranteed money. He has 112 career catches for 1,380 yards and nine touchdowns.
