Jack Kemp was unable to latch on in the NFL, but he found success in the AFL. He led the Bills to their first two -- and only two -- championships in franchise history and did so with a free-wheeling, gritty style that made him a fan favorite. Buffalo supporters can only hope that current QB Trent Edwards attains similar success. Edwards has had an up-and-down first two years, but has shown promise. With star WR Terrell Owens now in the fold, maybe Edwards will become more consistent.

While Jack Kemp may be remembered more for his distinguished political career, he was a star quarterback long before he became a star congressman. On the field, Kemp was known for being one of the toughest players in the league. Though his risky style prompted him to throw a bevy of interceptions and complete fewer than 50 percent of his passes, his teammates loved his fearlessness and he was able to make plays at crucial times due to his ingenuity.

So far, Trent Edwards has done a decent job taking care of the ball and playing within the
' offensive system. He has shown gradual progress in his first two seasons and the team is counting on him to continue improving this year. Former
receiver Terrell Owens was acquired in the offseason to give Edwards another option in the passing game to go along with the explosive Lee Evans. If Edwards can become more of a consistent playmaker next season, Buffalo could be dangerous.
