Drew Bennett visited Titans headquarters Monday, and the eight-year NFL veteran told The City Paper of Nashville that he believes he would be a nice complement to the team's current receiving corps.

Bennett played with the Titans from 2001 to 2006, and he led the team in receptions for two straight seasons and in receiving yards for three straight seasons. His best season came in 2004, when he had 80 receptions for 1,247 yards and 11 touchdowns -- all career highs.

Bennett, 30, left Tennessee as a free agent in 2007 and signed a six-year, $30 million contract with the St. Louis Rams. He caught 34 passes in two seasons for the Rams before a broken foot ended his 2008 campaign.

Bennett also has visited with the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns after being released by the Rams in February.

The Titans signed free agent Nate Washington and selected former Rutgers standout Kenny Britt in the first round of last month's draft in an effort to boost their receiving corps.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
