Inside the 2012 Schedule

The Titans could be much better than they were in 2011 and still start out 0-4, thanks to a brutal stretch out of the gate. Even if Matt Hasselbeck holds off Jake Locker at first, a change could be inevitable after facing the Pats, Chargers, Lions and Texans. A late bye (Week 11) seems like a thousand years away.

Week 2 at Chargers
The Chargers are regular playoff contenders, but their absence from the postseason in 2011 has put the pressure squarely on Norv Turner to engineer a quick turnaround. The Titans' ability to withstand a motivated Chargers squad in a hostile environment could reveal their preparedness for the postseason.
Week 4 at Texans
To win the AFC South, the Titans will have to find a way to topple the Texans on the road. Tennessee has the weapons -- with CJ2K, Kenny Britt and Jared Cook -- to make it interesting, but the play of Matt Hasselbeck (or Jake Locker) could become the deciding factor in this division matchup.
Week 6 vs. Steelers
The Steelers and Titans have enjoyed an intense rivalry for years, and the winner is routinely pegged as one of the NFL's most physical squads. With the Titans on the cusp of rejoining the ranks of the elite, this will be a chance for Tennessee to make a statement.
