The St. Louis Rams have released tight end Anthony Becht, the team announced Thursday.
Becht, a nine-year NFL veteran, played one season in St. Louis. He started 11 of 16 games, but he had just six receptions for 39 yards and failed to score a touchdown.
Becht was drafted in the first round (27th overall) by the New York Jets in 2000. He spent five seasons with the Jets and another three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Rams as an unrestricted free agent in 2008.
