The two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year agreed to terms last week, but he didn't immediately sign the deal that was reviewed by the NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association.

Lewis, 33, has signed a seven-year, incentive-laden deal, according to NFL Players Association records. Lewis is now under contract through the 2015 season. However, the deal includes options in the second and third years.

The 10-time Pro Bowl selection's seven-year, $50 million contract that he signed in 2002 expired after last season.

Lewis will be paid $10 million in the first year of his new contract.
