JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars will release veteran defensive end Paul Spicer on Friday.
âPaul Spicer has been a productive and valuable member of this team for a long time,â Jaguars general manager Gene Smith said in a statement released Thursday. âWeâve appreciated his team-first mentality and his blue-collar work ethic. He was a good example for the younger players because he was a guy who was not drafted but worked very hard to establish himself and his career.â
Spicer, 33, has been with the Jaguars since 2000, playing in 115 games with 63 starts. He is one of only seven players to play nine seasons for the Jaguars. He has 28.5 sacks, tied for third-most in team history.
