The NFL brought in its 89th season with a special, free pregame event, "NFL Opening Kickoff 2008 Presented by EA Sports." Usher, Keith Urban and Natasha Bedingfield performed at the Kickoff concert event from New York City's Columbus Circle.
Portions of the pregame broadcast were aired live on NFL Network, were streamed on NFL.com and were available via NFL Mobile Live only from Sprint.
