Manti Te'o to taunting opponents: 'Find a new joke'

Manti Te'o played every defensive snap in the Chargers' dramatic prime-time win over the 49ers on Saturday night.

Now two seasons into his NFL career, Te'o has gained some distance from the embarrassing fake-girlfriend scandal that marred the end of his college run at Notre Dame.

In case you were wondering, Te'o still hears about it. Niners offensive tackle Anthony Davis gloated about his deep burn during Saturday's game.

On Monday, Te'o was asked about Davis' comment and subsequent tweet.

"I got harassed a few times last year (on the field). I expected that. But this year?" Te'o said, according to UT-San Diego. "I told him, 'Find a new joke.' "

Te'o has developed into a solid pro for the Chargers. ProFootballFocus.com ranks Te'o 21st among 60 inside linebackers in 3-4 schemes. It could take years to fully put Lennay Kekua in his rear-view, but enjoying an extended NFL career can do wonders.
