The meetings took place in Arizona, where Bills president and CEO Russ Brandon, general manager Buddy Nix, assistant general manager Doug Whaley and executive Jim Overdorf arrived on Tuesday. The Bills are also planning to interview Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who's in Arizona to lead the Ducks against Kansas State in Thursday night's Fiesta Bowl.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on the planned meetings Tuesday.

Horton is also a candidate for the Cardinals head-coaching position, which came open when the team fired Whisenhunt on Monday after six years and one Super Bowl appearance, and the Cleveland Browns job, for which he has already interviewed.

Horton spent seven years on the Pittsburgh Steelers coaching staff before taking the job as Cardinals defensive coordinator in 2011. He played 10 years in the NFL as a defensive back.
