We have more bad news for Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters and Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs. Not only did both players tear their Achilles' tendons, they could lose money for it.

ESPN reports that both players are facing a financial reduction of some sort because of how they were injured. It is up to the discretion of the Ravens and Eagles whether they want to withhold pay from Suggs or Peters because they suffered a "non-football injury." Even though the players were training for football, they were not at the team facility or working under the team's direction.
Both players are subject to being placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list.
The report indicates that some sort of reduction is on the way. Peters' agent and the Eagles have already reportedly talked "amicably" about a possible reduction. Philadelphia could possibly give Peters, who is expected to miss the 2012 season, incentives to make the money back.
It would be more surprising if the Ravens sliced Suggs' pay, but the team is allowed to do so. It is also allowed to pay Suggs fully if it chooses. The team could technically try to withhold all of Suggs' salary, but sources told ESPN that nothing that drastic is expected with Peters or Suggs.
