Packers GM mum on future of dancing Donald Driver

The Green Bay Packers focused on defense in the 2012 NFL Draft, using six of their eight picks to shore up one side of the ball.

Is the fact the Packers didn't draft a wide receiver an indicator Donald Driver will be back for another season?

Driver -- Green Bay's all-time leading receiver -- said after the Packers' playoff loss to the New York Giants that he wasn't sure he'd be brought back for the final year of his deal. Driver, who turned 37 in February, is due a $1.5 million roster bonus on the first day of camp, and $2.6 million more in 2012 base salary.

Driver currently is a competitor on "Dancing With The Stars," a ABC reality show in which he apparently has thrived (we'll let you handle the research on this one.)

Asked about Driver's future Monday, Packers general manager Ted Thompson performed a pirouette deadly enough to send the Urkel guy into an elimination round (assuming there is an elimination round).

"I would never speculate on something like that," Thompson said, according to ESPN Milwaukee. "He's dancing right now. Doing good, too."

Perhaps if Driver wins the competition, the (insert first-place prize amount here) will be enough where he decides he doesn't need football anymore. Have I laid it on too thick that I don't watch this show? Somebody's insecure.
