Trent Richardson dons white tux, takes cancer survivor to prom

Top running back prospect Trent Richardson accompanied a teenage cancer survivor to her senior prom Saturday night, according to WBRC-TV in Birmingham, Ala.

The uncle of leukemia patient Courtney Alvis, of Hueytown, Ala., got in touch with Richardson's friends, who helped arrange things with the former University of Alabama star.

Richardson told the station he wanted to go with Alvis because his mother also survived cancer.

"I did it out of my heart," Richardson said. "I'm lucky to be here with Courtney."

The station reported that Richardson was decked out in a white tuxedo and Alvis was in red.
