The Rams are bystanders as the NFL determines a punishment following its investigation into the "pay for performance" system of the New Orleans Saints and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who now holds the same post in St. Louis.
The league is expected to level punishment this month and its discipline for Williams, who allegedly instituted a "bounty" program during his three-year tenure with the Saints. Williams was hired by the Rams and close friend Jeff Fisher in January.
Rams general manager Les Snead echoed the message previously delivered by executive vice president Kevin Demoff, telling "The Rich Eisen Podcast" Tuesday the team can't comment on the situation.
"Right now, it's a league matter," Snead said. "That's an ongoing investigation, and we're not going to comment on it until that investigation is resolved."
"In life, whether you're in the NFL, whether you're a football team ... you have to be prepared for adversity and you better bet able to adjust," Snead said. "The (people) who do that the best are most successful."
Williams met with league security Monday in New York to discuss the "bounty" investigation, a meeting NFL.com's Steve Wyche reported was not held at NFL headquarters and did not include Commissioner Roger Goodell.
