Stafford, Newton lead fantasy owners to a championship

Who was the Fantasy Player of the Week? Vote on the top performers and decide!

Tom Brady, QB, Patriots

Brady had a slow statistical start to his Christmas Eve, but he turned it on in the second half against the Dolphins. The veteran finished with 304 yards and scored three touchdowns, all in the second half, in what was a 27-24 win. Brady found the end zone on a pass of 1-yard to Deion Branch and two 1-yard runs, and now has 38 total touchdowns on the season. Next week, Brady and the Patriots finish their regular season against the Bills.

Cam Newton, QB, Panthers

Newton, one of the candidates for fantasy football's MVP, put up yet another solid stat line for owners in a blowout win over the Buccaneers. The talented quarterback threw for 171 yards, rushed for 65 yards and scored four touchdowns en route to a 31.34-point performance. His scores came on passes of 91, 11 and 8 yards and a run of 49 yards. Newton will finish the greatest rookie season for a quarterback next week in New Orleans.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Lions

Stafford's breakout season continued in championship week, as he shocked the Chargers for 373 yards and three touchdowns in what was a blowout win. His scores came on passes of 7, 3 and 14 yards, one of which went to Calvin Johnson. Now on pace to finish the season with over 4,800 yards and 38 touchdowns, Stafford has been one of this season's best fantasy draft bargains. He'll finish the regular season against the Green Bay Packers.

Arian Foster, RB, Texans

Foster, also a serious candidate for fantasy MVP, continued his assault on the opposition with an impressive 158 rushing yards and one touchdown in a Thursday night loss to the Colts. The veteran scored on a 9-yard run and has now found the end zone 12 times in 13 games, which further stakes his claim to being the top overall pick in 2012 fantasy drafts. A regular-season finale against the Titans is up next for Foster and the Texans.

Jared Cook, TE, Titans

Talk about coming out of nowhere! After being invisible for most of the season, Cook has recorded a combined 272 yards and one touchdown in his last two games -- that includes an impressive eight catches, 169 yards and one score in a win over the Jaguars. Cook, who is still available in most NFL.com leagues, is someone to target off the waiver wire if you play in Week 17 -- he'll face Foster and the Texans in the team's finale.
