Giants DE Tuck will play in NFC East showdown with Redskins

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Defensive end Justin Tuck will play through a painful toe injury when the Giantstake on the Washington Redskins on Sunday, coach Tom Coughlin said.

The Giants later confirmed that Tuck is active for Sunday's NFC East showdown.

Tuck injured the toe before last week's road victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He said Monday that he gutted out playing against the Giants' division rivals, but he wasn't sure he'd be able to go against the Redskins.

"For the most point I felt I was out there just to be the fourth man on the line," Tuck said. "I was out there playing on one leg, just trying to fight through it."

Tuck was limited in practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He officially was listed as questionable on the Giants' injury report.
